As a Senior Estimator, You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • Preparing construction estimates and tenders, including costs of materials, labor, and equipment for RFPs
  • Developing project-specific scopes of work for all trade disciplines
  • Qualifying incoming pricing, bids, quotations, schematic drawings, and specifications
  • Establishing and maintaining tendering processes, recommending tender awards, and conducting negotiations
  • Preparing Class “D” and “A” budgets with support from the Project Management team
  • Preparing preliminary schedules for construction project RFPs
  • Setting up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures
  • Maintaining a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors
  • Liaising and communicating with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors, and preparing feasibility studies on cost estimate adjustments
  • Demonstrating knowledge of construction estimating in the retail, commercial, hospitality, and institutional sectors

About You:

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in extensive retail, large commercial, institutional, and industrial projects
  • Strong trade relationships locally and nationally
  • Proficiency in quantity take-offs, unit costs, and labor rates
  • The ability to read technical drawings and specifications
  • Skill in demonstrating proposals and projects
  • Capability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously
  • Knowledge of building codes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Consistent achievement of objectives on schedule, budget, and quality standards
  • High resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability
  • A strong work ethic and perseverance in challenging situations
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Self-motivation and the ability to prioritize and execute tasks effectively in a high-pressure environment
  • Experience with MS Office Suite, MS Project, Bluebeam, Procore, and related estimating tools

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Office environment work
  • Occasional site visits
  • Tasks include computer work, sitting at a desk, remote and in-person meetings, emails, phone calls, and other duties
