Summary of Position:
Our client is looking for a full-time architect with 5–10 years of post graduate experience. Under the direction of the Design Manager, the Architect will develop project deliverables (drawings, schedules, reports) in the documentation phases of the project (Schematic Design, Design Development, Contract Documents). Construction administration duties (site visits, reviews, change orders, coordination etc.).

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver all project requirements (drawings, reports, specifications, etc.) through Schematic Design, Design Development, Contract Documentation, Project Procurement and Construction Contract Administration and Closeout phases
  • Support the Project Architect/Design Manager in the coordination of project documentation from all allied design disciplines
  • Preparation of plans, sections, elevations and views of projects for presentations to clients, authorities and other key external stakeholders (design panels, building committees, etc.)
  • Supporting the team in project schedule adherence and meeting project objectives and milestones
  • Attends co-ordination meetings and responds to requests for information
  • Attends project and/or site meetings 
  • Participates in the Construction Contract Administration phase and reviews submittals, Requests for Information and generally assist the PArch/DM in the administration of the construction contract
  • Focus on the quality of deliverables by monitoring compliance with corporate standards for Quality Assurance and Quality Control Protocols
  • Performs others duties as required


Qualifications: 

  • 5–10 years of architectural experience, post graduation
  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Architecture or Environmental Science
  • Registration with the Architectural Institute of BC (or eligible to be registered)
  • Experience coordinating teams and contributing to all phases of projects
  • Ability to present professional and technical information to internal team members and clients
  • Clear understanding of Contractual and Professional Liability risks and exposure 
  • High level of initiative and independent judgement while performing work duties
  • Demonstrated expertise in design and/or technical realms
  • Understanding of basic building envelope principles with regard to materials and roof and wall assemblies
  • Understanding of code and bylaw requirements throughout the Greater Vancouver area 
  • Proficient with REVIT and AutoCAD and how they apply to defined project phase
  • High level of personal integrity and a strong work ethic
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Delivers on promises to project team members, consultants and clients
  • Able to build and maintain professional relationships internally and externally
