About the Role:
Working closely with the President & CEO and reporting into the Financial Controller, your responsibilities will be to manage the day to day accounting operations of the company. Duties would include but not be limited to:
- Supervise a Team of 6 accountants. 2 in Toronto, 4 in India.
- Overseeing the day-to-day activities in accounting operations and the teams including billing, accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring compliance, accuracy and timeliness
- Reviewing financial statements
- Preparing regular reports, including month-end closing statements, quarterly reports to the bank, accounts payable and accounts receivable reports, etc
- Manage Bank, CRA and Auditor relationships
- Ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations
- Delegating, supervising, and participating in accounting department tasks
- Developing and implementing department controls and procedures
- Assist the Financial Controller as needed
- BComm or equivalent, plus CPA, MBA or pursuing.
- 8+ years experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role
- Experience with Quickbooks and Sage 300 are preferred
- Strong Excel and other Microsoft applications
- Excellent English communication skills are required
