VP of Investments & Asset Management Duties & Responsibilities:
Key Objectives:
- Discover opportunities for streamlining the portfolio, reducing costs, and making investments that support organizational goals
- Direct real estate transactions and negotiations across N. America, securing optimal terms within budget and on schedule.
- Implement industry best practices to align real estate strategies with company objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, business owners, landlords, asset managers, and suppliers to advance real estate initiatives
- Serve as the POC for due diligence and integration activities related to real estate and facilities, collaborating with various teams.
- Lead real estate due diligence and integration processes for mergers and acquisitions, ensuring consistency with corporate development and facility operations
- Oversee the planning and management of the global facilities budget, including operational and capital expenditures.
- Strengthen departmental controls to ensure regulatory compliance and support audit processes.
- Administer global lease management, cost oversight, planning, and reporting to ensure compliance and alignment with business needs.
- Manage the verification of rent payments for the Americas, including the review and approval of rental and sublease billings.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial real estate investments and asset management at a senior leadership level
- A deep understanding of Canadian markets as they pertain to real estate investment opportunities and best practices for real property management
- Holding an MBA with a focus on finance and real estate is preferred
- Strong commercial leasing negotiations and contract management skills and experience
- Excellent analytical and financial skills and experience
- Experience in people management including hiring/interviewing with a passion for mentorship
- Exceptional relationship building and client management skills and experience
- Proven ability to solve problems independently while executing on strategic corporate plans
- A collaborative and consultative style with a strong customer service mentality
