Job Overview: This established and reputable home builder in Edmonton is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technologist/Drafter to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of technical expertise, creative design skills, and hands-on construction experience. This role is pivotal in driving projects from conceptual design through to completion, ensuring quality, efficiency, and innovation at every stage.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Design and development of home/residential projects, from initial concept to final build.
• Knowledge in advanced technological tools and software to create detailed architectural and engineering plans.
• Work along side clients to prepare designs - drawing packages, modifications, change details, etc.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to inform design decisions.
• Ensure all projects comply with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and sustainability standards.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to meet client expectations.
• Innovate and implement new building technologies and sustainable design practices.

 
Qualifications:

• Educational background in Drafting or Architecture technology
• 2-10 years experience as Design Technologist in residential construction - drafting homes/architectural drawing packages
• Experience in AutoCAD and Revit software
• Understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and sustainable design principles.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Creative thinking and a passion for innovation in construction and design.
