Our client is reputable, building materials/construction-oriented sales organization committed to providing a superior customer experience. We believe in doing the right thing, having a mutual commitment to succeed, consistently achieving targeted goals and taking action on strategic opportunities. 50-75 employees. Organizational structure is flat with an emphasis on collaboration and teamwork across function and departments. Employee roles are based on competencies, skills and performance rather than hierarchical position.

We are looking for an experienced leader to improve processes, foster communication, drive growth and execute strategic plans with parent company.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced President to lead the company’s next phase of growth and development. The President will be responsible for the overall strategic direction, leadership, and management of the company. This individual will work closely with the executive team to ensure operational excellence, drive profitability, and uphold our commitment to customer satisfaction and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

1. STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans that align with the company's mission and goals.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and markets to drive growth.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

2. OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT:
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in all areas.
  • Manage budgets, financial performance, and resource allocation.
  • Implement best practices in supply chain management, inventory control, and customer service.

3. TEAM LEADERSHIP AND DEVELOPMENT:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the executive team and staff.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Ensure adequate training and professional development opportunities for employees.

4. CUSTOMER AND COMMUNITY RELATIONS:
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with key customers, suppliers, and partners.
  • Represent the company in community and industry events.
  • Uphold the company's reputation for excellent customer service and community involvement.

5. FINANCIAL OVERSIGHT:
  • Ensure financial stability and profitability of the company.
  • Oversee financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
  • Implement effective cost control measures and financial risk management strategies.

6. COMPLIANCE AND RISK MANAGEMENT:
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and address potential risks to the company's operations and reputation.

7. SALES MANAGEMENT:
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets.
  • Monitor sales performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Foster a high-performance sales culture through effective leadership and motivation.

8. PRODUCT MIX OVERSIGHT:
  • Analyze and optimize the product mix to meet market demands and profitability goals.
  • Ensure a balanced and comprehensive inventory that meets customer needs.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to source quality products at competitive prices.

9. PROCESS IMPROVEMENT AND CHANGE MANAGEMENT:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Lead change management initiatives to ensure successful implementation of new processes.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and adaptability.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Proven experience as a President, CEO, or in a similar senior leadership role within the lumber, hardware, or building materials industry.
  • Strong strategic planning and execution skills.
  • Exceptional financial acumen and experience in managing budgets and financial performance.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills.
  • Outstanding communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive growth and profitability.
  • Commitment to customer service and community engagement.
