Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Estimator to join our growing team in Mississauga. This role requires a dynamic individual capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor bidding opportunities and identify potential projects of interest.
- Assess the technical aspects of projects and prepare initial cost estimates.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Create and submit bid proposals after review.
- Prepare costing for ongoing project changes.
- Address on-site issues with the operations team.
- Attend site meetings as required.
- Coordinate the investigation and resolution of disputes.
Main Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a Roofing Estimator in the construction industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of roofing systems, materials, and applications.
- Proficiency in MS Office, including MS Project.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a team environment.
Additional Qualifications:
- Commercial roofing experience required.
- Capability to manage a team of 2-3 estimators.
- Ability to leverage existing relationships for business opportunities.
- Experience with Capital Projects.
- Proficiency in reviewing bids and tenders to secure work.
- Strong relationship-building skills with a sales component.
- Site visit experience and bid compilation expertise.
- Collaboration with Service Estimators.
- Efficient information gathering and deadline management.
- Long-term hire with annual performance-based compensation adjustments.
