Salary range $90,000-110,000 dependent on experience, benefits, 3 weeks vacation

Our client, a reputable and growing manufacturer, is seeking an experienced QA Assistant Manager to join their expanding team.  This role would be based in beautiful Bracebridge, On and would offer relocation for the right candidate.  This role would be responsible for the Quality, HACCP, and GPP programs including on-site observations, data collection, review of records, filing, written material creation, management and training of quality employees. This is a critical role ensures that quality standards and procedures are in place, current, and aligned with government regulations and customer specifications. The ideal candidate brings a positive attitude and actively participates in continuous improvement.

The Role:

 
  • Provides leadership in the development, management and implementation of company Quality Assurance Programs and Policies (HACCP, SOP, GMP, etc.) Ensure ongoing compliance with local, national, and international standards and legislation
  • Oversees the development, implementation, review and maintenance of the Quality System, including product safety fundamentals and the safety plan
  • Accountable to plan various aspects of the production process
  • Responsible for leading, developing and directing Quality Assurance team in achieving the goals and ambitions of the organization. Communicate expectations and manage employee performance
  • Maintains a continuous state of audit readiness by ensuring facility always complies with regulatory requirements and all corresponding documentation is completed
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all products manufactured by the facility as well as the raw materials, packaging materials, and operations required in the manufacturing process including quality specifications and standards
  • Accountable to initiate corrective actions and preventative measures
  • Support new product development and continuous improvement by integrating quality control tools (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) into processes
  • Promote and advocate quality achievement and performance improvement across the organization

The Ideal Candidate:
  • A relevant Bachelor Degree ideally in Quality, Agriculture, or food Science;
  • A technical QA certification with related field experience will be considered;5-7 of progressive experience in a QA role
  • Previous supervisory experience in a similar setting is preferred
  • Knowledge of HACCP and GMP/GPP
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborates well with the team
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
