As industry leaders, they handle a diverse array of projects including Multifamily, Mixed-Use, Senior Living, Education, Healthcare, Commercial, Office Space, Municipal and civic buildings, Industrial sites, Hospitality, and Entertainment Venues.

Summary:
The Senior Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing construction projects from conception to completion. This role requires ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards. The Senior Construction Manager will lead project teams, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.

What You’ll Do:
 
  1. Project Planning and Management
    • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
    • Monitor project progress and adjust as necessary to ensure successful completion.
    • Lead project teams and manage daily operations to ensure adherence to project plans.
 
  1. Team Leadership and Coordination
    • Supervise construction managers, engineers, and other staff members.
    • Foster a collaborative team environment and ensure effective communication among all project stakeholders.
    • Provide mentorship and training to junior team members.
 
  1. Stakeholder Communication and Management
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, and subcontractors.
    • Conduct regular project status meetings and provide updates to stakeholders.
    • Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the project lifecycle.
 
  1. Budget and Cost Management
    • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring costs are controlled and projects stay within financial constraints.
    • Review and approve expenditures, invoices, and change orders.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
 
  1. Quality Control and Assurance
    • Establish and enforce quality standards and procedures for construction projects.
    • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards.
    • Address any defects or deficiencies promptly.
 
  1. Safety Management
    • Develop and implement safety plans and protocols.
    • Ensure all project activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
    • Conduct safety audits and training sessions for staff and subcontractors.
 
  1. Regulatory Compliance
    • Ensure all construction activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
    • Obtain necessary permits and licenses for construction projects.
    • Stay updated on changes in building codes and construction standards.
 
  1. Risk Management
    • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Monitor and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Ensure contingency plans are in place for unforeseen events.

What You'll Need:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CCM) are preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
    • Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Working Conditions:
  • This position may require frequent travel to project sites. (Within the Greater Portland Area)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours as needed to meet project deadlines.
