Job Title: Operations Manager
Salary: $75,000 - $80,000 plus bonuses
Location:  Chilton, Wisconsin
Travel Requirement: Less than 25%

They specialize in providing high-quality building and landscape stone for both residential and commercial projects. As part of their continued growth, they are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Operations Manager to join their team.
 
Position Overview:
 
The Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the production facility in Chilton, WI ensuring the highest levels of productivity, quality, and efficiency. This role will be responsible for managing the quarrying, fabricating, and manufacturing operations of the facility, while maintaining safety standards, driving process improvements, and ensuring optimal workflow. The Operations Manager will report directly to the Director of Operations and will be responsible for developing strategic plans, meeting production targets, and continuously improving processes across all Wisconsin locations.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage day-to-day operations for Wisconsin Quarry, CMF, and Saw Shop teams, ensuring production and quality standards are met.
  • Provide leadership by running L10 meetings and helping staff develop SMART quarterly objectives.
  • Set and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for WI Quarry, CMF, and Saw Shop.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Operations to establish and meet production targets.
  • Analyze current operations and recommend improvements to the manufacturing organizational structure.
  • Prepare and manage annual operational budgets and monthly reviews of departmental budgets, making necessary corrective actions.
  • Implement lean manufacturing techniques and industry best practices to improve efficiency.
  • Plan personnel needs based on production forecasts and communicate staffing requirements with HR.
  • Serve as the primary contact for MSHA rules and regulations, ensuring ongoing compliance with federal and state safety standards.
  • Maintain and distribute operations records and reports, developing systems as needed for areas like equipment maintenance, customer feedback, and operational performance.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for cost-saving measures and operational improvements.
  • Assist in the hiring process and collaborate with HR to develop training programs.
  • Act as a back-up for payroll updates using Paylocity and assist with MSHA new hire and refresher training sessions..
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production management role, preferably in stone, construction materials, or a similar industry.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams, with a focus on employee development and team success.
  • Strong understanding of production processes, workflow optimization, and quality control.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in using production management software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience using "Great Plains" accounting software is considered an asset
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodologies (preferred).
