Position: Health and Safety Advisor / Administrator
Location: Barrie, ON
Salary: $70,000 - $85,000 (commensurate with experience)

Role Overview:
The Health and Safety Advisor / Administrator will be instrumental in promoting a safe work environment across all project sites. Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, this role will oversee compliance, support audits, and facilitate continuous safety improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain project health and safety documentation in an organized electronic system.
• Assist with job site audits and coordinate Certificate of Recognition (COR) submissions.
• Conduct site worker orientations and monitor safety performance, particularly for new and young workers.
• Train team members on safety procedures and ensure safety committees operate effectively.
• Participate in risk assessments, incident investigations, and contractor safety evaluations.
• Support various safety-related tasks as assigned by the Health and Safety Manager.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of construction industry experience, ideally on medium to large projects.
• Experience with COR standards and involvement in safety groups (IHSA preferred).
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate safety practices clearly.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and capable of working under tight deadlines.
• Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety preferred, along with WSIB management experience.
• Valid driver’s license required.
