Our client, an established mid-sized private equity developer/owner/operator, is looking to add a General Manager to their team in North York, ON to support their accelerated growth. They have approx. 50 commercial properties across the Greater Toronto Area with approx. 200 commercial tenants. This role will include operational oversight of the 1.5M sq ft portfolio (primarily industrial assets) and direct reporting of approx. 7 team members. The successful candidate will have strong client service strategies, strong financial acumen, a well-rounded skillset as it pertains to property management and operations, and a hands-on mentality with a genuine personality. We are looking for someone who is passionate about property management and contributing to company growth. This role will be based in-office with weekly site visits to properties. The General Manager will report directly into the VP of Real Estate.

The successful candidate will receive competitive compensation including an annual base salary between $150,000-$175,000 (dependent on experience), fully paid benefits package and 3 weeks vacation.

General Manager Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee property operations to achieve targeted financial outcomes.
- Analyze monthly and quarterly property performance and provide insights to senior management.
- Ensure tenant rents and receivables are collected per lease agreements.
- Support budgeting processes and manage year-end recoveries.
- Monitor and control operating expenses effectively.
- Establish, update, and manage building processes and operational procedures.
- Implement new programs while ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular property inspections to maintain standards.
- Foster strong tenant relationships to ensure high levels of satisfaction.
- Assist in leasing and marketing vacant office, commercial, and industrial spaces.
- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of employees.
- Evaluate team performance regularly and support their professional growth and development.
General Manager Qualifications:
- 7-10 years of experience in property management.
- At least five (5) years of experience in commercial/industrial property management.
- Proven leadership and management capabilities.
- Familiarity with YARDI (Voyager 7S) software is an asset.
- Solid background in financial accounting within commercial real estate, including financial reporting and budgeting.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a logical approach to managing projects and resolving complex financial, legal, and contractual challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement innovative ideas with measurable results.
- Excellent negotiation skills to influence outcomes at all organizational levels.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and risk management skills to identify and mitigate potential liabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- A reliable vehicle is required for travel to various sites.
