We are seeking an experienced Director, Diagnostics Manufacturing to lead manufacturing operations and external partnerships in the diagnostics sector. This role will drive manufacturing strategy, ensure regulatory compliance, and optimize processes for scale-up and commercialization. Working closely with cross-functional teams, this leader will manage Contract Development and Manufacturing Organizations (CDMOs), oversee supply chain and logistics, and facilitate the production of diagnostic kits and components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive manufacturing strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Lead scientific and technical efforts for product development and manufacturing scale-up.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, ISO 13485, and other relevant standards.
- Manage external manufacturing activities, ensuring alignment with production schedules and quality standards.
- Oversee supply chain and logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials and products.
- Support technology transfer, validation plans, and documentation required for manufacturing activities.
- Collaborate on cost optimization and contract negotiations with CDMOs and suppliers.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in production operations and technology transfers.
- Resolve supply chain issues and maintain strong partnerships with external vendors.
- Ensure readiness for international market entry while maintaining quality and compliance.
Qualifications:
- MSc. or PhD in biological sciences or engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in biologics or diagnostics manufacturing.
- 7+ years in leadership roles, including team management in manufacturing and supply chain.
- Expertise in process engineering for peptides, antibodies, and biologics.
- Proven experience in technology transfer, scale-up, and CDMO management.
- Strong knowledge of GMP and ISO 13485 standards.
- Exceptional analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, matrixed environment and manage competing priorities.
- Strong communication skills and experience in business development support.
- Ability to travel internationally to manufacturing sites as required.
- Must have the authority to work in Canada.
