About the Role

As a Senior Architect, you will lead the design and delivery of multifamily residential projects, with a focus on wood-frame construction. You’ll be responsible for overseeing all project phases, from conceptual design through to construction completion, while managing client relationships and supporting the professional growth of junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and technical delivery of multifamily residential projects, specializing in low-rise and mid-rise wood-frame developments.

  • Oversee all phases of project delivery, including concept design, development permits, building permits, and construction documentation.

  • Collaborate closely with clients, consultants, municipal authorities, and internal teams to ensure successful project outcomes.

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior and intermediate architects, supporting their growth and development.

  • Ensure compliance with BC Building Code, municipal zoning bylaws, and building science best practices.

  • Review and coordinate consultant drawings and manage project budgets and schedules.

  • Attend client meetings, design reviews, and site visits to ensure quality control and design intent are maintained through construction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.

  • 8+ years of professional experience, including significant leadership on multifamily residential projects.

  • Registered Architect (AIBC) or eligible for registration.

  • Proven experience delivering low-rise and mid-rise wood-frame residential projects in British Columbia.

  • Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD; familiarity with SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite is an asset.

  • Strong understanding of BC Building Code, municipal permitting processes, and wood-frame construction methodologies.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and client relationship management skills.

  • A practical, solutions-oriented approach with a focus on buildable, cost-effective designs.
