About the Role

We’re seeking a technically skilled and detail-oriented Architectural Technologist who can confidently lead or support project documentation and coordination through all phases of design and construction. Whether you’re an experienced intermediate looking to grow into a senior role or a senior technologist ready for new challenges, this is an excellent opportunity to work on a range of impactful projects in a supportive and well-structured studio.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for complex projects.

• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless project delivery.

• Lead or support Building Permit and Development Permit submissions, ensuring compliance with local codes and bylaws.

• Provide technical support during the design development and contract administration phases.

• Review shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs, ensuring design intent and quality standards are maintained.

• Stay current with BCBC, VBBL, and municipal zoning regulations to ensure compliance.

• Mentor junior technologists and contribute to team knowledge-sharing where applicable.

• Assist in the selection and detailing of building materials and systems with a focus on constructability and durability.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Architectural Technology or a related field.

• 5+ years of relevant professional experience, ideally within an architectural firm in British Columbia.

• Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD; experience with SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite is an asset.

• Strong understanding of building systems, envelope detailing, and construction methods.

• In-depth knowledge of BC Building Code, Vancouver Building Bylaw, and permitting processes.

• Excellent technical documentation and coordination skills.

• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities with a collaborative approach.

• A keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering high-quality, buildable solutions.
