construction firm with a strong focus on construction management, general contracting and infrastructure projects across Ontario is seeking a
Project Manager. With a growing portfolio of large-scale projects, this company is known for its commitment to quality, timelines and employee engagement.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
This position offers a chance to be part of a fast-paced, growing organization where you will lead all aspects of multiple large construction projects while developing key leadership skills. The successful candidate will collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and consultants to ensure smooth project delivery from start to finish.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in construction project management.
- Post Secondary degree in construction project management or civil engineering
- PMP certification is an asset.
- Has knowledge of stipulated price contracts, construction management contracts CCDC 5A/5B.
- Knowledge of Ontario Health & Safety Act.
- Knowledge of Federal and Provincial regulations.
- Experience with project management software and tools
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods and regulations.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software (ViewPoint, Fieldwire)
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Coordinate with architects, engineers and consultants during the design and construction phase.
- Identify potential challenges that could impact project timelines, and develop strategies to eliminate bottlenecks and keep projects on track.
- Define project scope, goals and deliverables.
- Review the procurement of materials and equipment.
- Monitor, track and update budgets expenditures and cost controls.
- Assist in the development and management of project budgets with the estimating team.
- Assist in reviewing bids and selecting subcontractors and suppliers with the estimating team.
- Participate in SPR meetings and finalizing the scope of work.
- Track progress logs, site diaries, change logs, RFI logs, reports and inspections.
- Ensure Fieldwire stays up to date with all relevant drawings and documents.
- Prepare and present financial reports, monthly forecasts, and project invoices and billings.
- Develop and maintain project schedules and milestones.
- Attend on-site safety training.
- Review and sign off on monthly safety inspections.
- Act as a liaison between clients, contractors and consultants.
- Lead regular site and project OAC meetings.
- Allocate labour, materials and equipment.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Oversee project close-out.
- Manage deficiency lists and warranty follow-ups.
- Schedule close-out meetings with Estimating, Accounting, Management, Site Super and PC.
- Oversee the review of shop drawings.
