THE COMPANY
We’ve partnered with a respected design-build construction firm with over 70 years of combined experience delivering commercial, institutional, and light industrial buildings across BC, Alberta, and Manitoba. Their work spans gas bars, community centers, wellness facilities, motels, cannabis shops, and more all designed with practicality, budget awareness, and thoughtful design execution. With in-house design, sales, estimating, and construction teams, the company takes projects from sketch to completion while maintaining full control over timelines and quality. Their studio culture values collaborative energy, adaptability, and a strong sense of creative ownership.

THE ROLE
We’re seeking an Architectural Designer who thrives in the early stages of project development producing conceptual site plans, floorplans, elevations, and compelling presentation packages that serve as the foundation for sales, estimating, and client buy-in. This position is highly collaborative, working closely with internal sales representatives to visualize design intent and adapt to evolving client needs. Strong graphic communication, technical accuracy, and a keen eye for proportion, layout, and massing are key.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with the sales and estimating teams to translate client needs into design visuals

  • Develop rough site plans, floorplans, and elevations that undergo multiple revisions pre-sale

  • Produce basic 3D massing models and refined renderings using Lumion (or similar)

  • Assemble presentation-quality design packages for client and internal review

  • Apply basic building code principles (e.g. egress, exiting, accessibility) to guide early design feasibility

  • Coordinate with project reps to evolve designs from sketch through polished deliverables

  • Occasionally support visualizations with section views, detailed interiors, or schedules when required

REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+ years of post-grad experience in architecture or design-build environments

  • Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, Design, or related field

  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and Lumion (or similar)

  • Experience developing conceptual plans, elevations, and presentation drawings

  • Understanding of zoning, exiting, and general code principles (deep permit/code work is outsourced)

  • Creative flair, clear communication style, and the ability to present ideas visually

  • Enthusiastic about working in a sales-oriented design environment

WHY JOIN THEM?

  • Play a key visual role in helping clients imagine what’s possible

  • Contribute to a variety of impactful commercial and community projects

  • Work in a collaborative and entrepreneurial team that values speed, creativity, and results

  • Richmond-based studio with on-site collaboration and mentorship

  • Stable pipeline of work and room for growth within a multidisciplinary team
