Senior Estimator – Vancouver Island, BC

What You'll Do:
Review design blueprints and construction docs to understand project requirements
Prepare detailed material and labour take-offs
Build comprehensive cost estimates including labour, materials, timelines, and contingencies
Present estimates for internal approval and executive decision-making
Collaborate cross-functionally with design, development, construction, and civil teams
Maintain and update estimating systems, records, and databases
Track plan changes and revise budgets accordingly
Participate in bids, proposals, and internal material planning
Stay informed on industry trends, pricing, and new materials
Mentor junior estimators and budget analysts
Prepare and validate monthly executive budget reports
Manage deadlines for deliverables
What You Bring:
Diploma in Construction Management, Estimating, Accounting, or related
5+ years in a Senior Estimator role
Deep knowledge of wood frame residential construction
Strong experience with take-offs, estimating software, and Excel
Understanding of construction methodology, project scheduling, and cost control
On-site experience is a major asset
Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
Comfortable communicating with vendors, contractors, and cross-functional teams
Familiarity with legal aspects of construction contracts
Capable of managing multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously
Willingness to travel to project sites across Western Canada if needed
Location:
Based on Vancouver Island, BC with travel to sites across Western Canada
