THE ROLE
In this role as an Intermediate Planner with land development experience, you ill possess an in-depth understanding of the City of Calgary’s planning application process and a strong ability to navigate development approvals. This role is perfect for a highly motivated, entrepreneurial individual eager to push boundaries and pioneer new approaches to urban development. Responsibilities include and not limited to:- Spearhead and oversee the approval process for diverse development projects.
- Craft compelling planning applications and submissions for the City of Calgary.
- Engage with stakeholders, leading dynamic outreach activities.
- Develop and refine visually striking graphic presentations.
- Collaborate across disciplines to craft forward-thinking solutions and meet ambitious project goals.
- Maintain meticulous records and documentation related to approvals and permits.
- Anticipate and proactively tackle potential challenges in the approval process.
- Partner with clients and consultants, providing strategic planning insights and project management support under the guidance of an Associate or Principal.
- Contribute to the development of innovative proposals in collaboration with senior leadership.
Who You Are
- Passionate urban innovator with a Professional degree in Planning or a related field (Master’s level preferred).
- 3+ years of hands-on experience navigating urban development and approvals.
- Deep understanding of City of Calgary planning policies and approval frameworks.
- Master of visual storytelling and graphic design (Adobe Creative Cloud expertise required).
- Entrepreneurial spirit, boundless energy, and a bold, creative mindset for reshaping cities and landscape
