My client is a progressive architectural & interiors studio based in Victoria, BC, serving the Pacific Northwest. They specialize in creating thoughtful, meaningful designs across various sectors, including adaptive reuse, custom homes, retail interiors, and mid-rise multi-family developments. Notably, they have transformed historic structures into modern, multi-functional commercial spaces, exemplifying their commitment to innovative and sustainable design. The firm offers a hybrid work environment and is open to remote arrangements for candidates outside Victoria.

About the Opportunity:
My client is seeking a motivated Intern Architect or Architect with intermediate experience to join their growing team. This role provides the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects while developing your skills in a collaborative, supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop innovative design concepts and create compelling presentation materials.
  • Prepare working drawings and coordinate rezoning, development permit, and building permit submissions.
  • Support coordination with consultants, contractors, and clients throughout all project phases.
  • Maintain design intent and attention to detail during construction documentation and administration.

What You Bring to the Role:

  • Registration or eligibility for registration with the AIBC.
  • Strong design and visualization skills, with the ability to communicate ideas effectively.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with permit submissions and working drawings.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Experience with wood-frame and mid-rise multi-family housing projects.
  • Familiarity with the BCBC and local land-use bylaws.
  • Construction administration experience, including site visits and contractor coordination.
  • An interest in conducting feasibility studies and early-stage project planning.
