Role Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Architect to lead the design and delivery of large, complex mixed-use projects. This role is ideal for an individual with over 8 years of experience who excels at managing multidisciplinary teams, overseeing all project stages, and ensuring the highest standards of design and technical excellence. As a Senior Architect, you’ll take the lead in client relationships, mentor junior staff, and drive innovative, sustainable solutions that push architectural boundaries.

Key Responsibilities

• Design Leadership: Guide the development of innovative and cohesive designs from concept through completion.
• Technical Expertise: Oversee detailed construction documentation, ensuring accuracy, constructability, and compliance with local regulations.
• Construction Administration: Lead construction phase services, including RFIs, submittals, site reviews, and issuing site instructions.
• Team Collaboration: Mentor and support project teams, coordinating with consultants and contractors to achieve project objectives.
• Project Management: Manage schedules, budgets, and resources, addressing challenges proactively to meet deadlines.
• Client Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring project success.
• Code Compliance: Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of BCBC, VBBL, and zoning bylaws to navigate permitting and regulatory processes.
• Sustainable Innovation: Incorporate advanced building systems, materials, and technologies to achieve sustainability goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
• 8+ years of professional experience, including a portfolio of large, complex mixed-use projects.
• Proficiency in Revit; additional experience with AutoCAD, Rhino, and rendering tools is an asset.
• Extensive knowledge of construction detailing, specifications, and administration.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver projects from concept to completion.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and client management abilities.
