Position Summary:
The Site Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing daily operations on-site, ensuring that all activities are conducted safely, on time, and to the highest standards. The role involves close collaboration with project managers, subcontractors, and various stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Management: Lead and manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project specifications, schedules, and quality standards.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, fostering a safe work environment for all personnel on site.
- Subcontractor Coordination: Supervise and coordinate the work of subcontractors, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to the required standards.
- Progress Monitoring: Track project progress, identify potential issues early, and implement corrective measures to keep the project on schedule.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular site inspections to ensure the work meets industry standards and project requirements.
- Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with all project stakeholders, including project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Reporting: Provide regular progress updates to the project management team, highlighting any challenges and proposed solutions.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Site Superintendent, ideally with experience in commercial or institutional construction.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Strong leadership and management abilities, with a proven track record of successfully leading teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with project management software and tools is an asset.
