Our Client:

Our client is a General Contractor who is looking for a Superintendent with experience in commercial construction.  The type of projects they work on includes Commercial, Multifamily, Institutional, and Industrial Projects.


Summary:


Our client has an immediate need to add a strong Superintendent to their team. They are looking for an experienced Superintendent with an understanding of the construction industry and who possesses the leadership skills necessary to guide the construction team.


What You’ll Do:



 
  • Project Planning and Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to create project plans, schedules, and budgets. Coordinate and communicate project details and requirements with all stakeholders involved.
  • Site Management: Oversee the construction site to ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and quality standards. Monitor progress, resolve issues, and make decisions related to construction methods, materials, and equipment.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and manage on-site construction personnel, including subcontractors and construction workers. Provide direction, assign tasks, and ensure efficient utilization of resources. Foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Quality Control: Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure construction work meets or exceeds industry standards and project specifications. Conduct regular inspections to identify and address any deficiencies or non-compliance issues.
  • Budget and Cost Control: Monitor project costs, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor expenses. Identify cost-saving opportunities, manage change orders, and track project expenditures to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Progress Reporting: Prepare and submit regular progress reports to project stakeholders, including project managers, clients, and executives. Communicate project status, milestones, and potential delays or issues that may impact the construction schedule.
  • Contract Administration: Understand and interpret contract documents, including construction plans, specifications, and contractual obligations. Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions, including payment schedules, insurance requirements, and project deliverables.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks, hazards, and challenges associated with the construction project. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize the impact on the project timeline, budget, and overall success.
  • Change Management: Effectively manage changes to project scope, schedule, and specifications. Assess the impact of change requests, negotiate with stakeholders, and ensure proper documentation and communication of changes.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay up to date with local, state, and federal regulations related to construction, safety, and environmental standards. Ensure the construction site and activities comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

Consistently, in a timely and accurate manner document daily activity:
  • Project schedule and progression
  • Work orders, meeting minutes, back charges, purchase orders, RFI's, back charges, photo documentation, safety conditions
  • Payroll and performance of direct reports
  • Safety conditions, accident reports

Contribute to continuous product and service improvement through:
  • Avoiding errors and recognizing errors made by others.
  • Demonstrating a willingness to acquire additional skills and taking the initiative to do so.
  • Procedural improvement recommendations.

What You’ll Need:

 
  • 5+ years in the commercial construction industry.
  • 5+ years of direct commercial construction project management
  • Personal computing skills and familiarity with MS Office software
  • Knowledge of building processes, practices, and techniques in commercial, multi-family residential, institutional, and industrial building construction
