TalentSphere is proud to be partnering with well recognised firm as they search for a skilled Intern Architect or architectural professional with a range of skills, to join their studio in Calgary. This firm work on a range of projects including commercial, public, institutional and civic work and have a collaborative and progressive environment.
THE JOB
As an Intern Architect or a talented architectural professional with a range of technical, design and coordination skills (registration not required, you will be involved in the following:
- Project Manage different elements of projects, across several projects simultaneously
- Works energetically with the project team in planning work and developing solutions to technical and design detail problems.
- Liaise with clients through project phases
- Manage various subconsultant teams on projects
- Site visits and site reviews
- Prepares client presentations and presents design concepts and drawings.
- Ensures that construction detail documentation conforms to QA/QC and Best Practice standards.
- Incorporates Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects.
- Mentors and directs the work of less experienced staff
- Fosters and maintains a collaborative professional working relationship with the Project Leadership Team
- Reviews completed reports, plans, estimates and calculations for coordination.
- Participates in team meetings to help resolve project issues, coordination with other disciplines, schedule adherence, and technical issues.
WHAT'S REQUIRED
- A relevant degree in architecture or related
- Registered as an Intern Architect with the AAA preferred but not essential
- 5 - 10 years of post graduate experience
- A keen eye for design, with a portfolio that highlights innovative design
- Strong technical skills and a solid understanding of Canadian building codes and regulations.
- Excellent communication skills
- Some experience with site visits and coordination, ability to work through different phases of projects
- A collaborative mindset and a passion for pushing the boundaries of architectural design.
- Strong knowledge of building code and bylaws in Alberta
- Excellent Revit skills
- Strong sense of work ethic, honest and have a collaborative approach
