TalentSphere Staffing Solutions is partnered with an industry leading manufacturer of industrial air filtration products and are searching for their Field Service Technician. This individual would be covering an Alberta and BC based territory, with the primary work being based in Alberta.

This company has been around for over 75 years and is a global organization.

The ideal candidate would be someone with an Electrical, Millwright, or similar industry background who has experience performing service and/or maintenance in an industrial type of environment. This individual would also need an aptitude for customer service and have strong communication skills.

                                                                   Field Service Technician
 
JOB SUMMARY
 
Responsible for maintaining a relationship with the client’s customer base whether it is directly with the end user or their dealer network. You are to provide service work for all industrial air pollution equipment furnished by the company. Effecting repairs in mechanical, electrical and/or pneumatic control areas promote sales of parts and services.  Equipment includes: vehicle exhaust, baghouses, fans, oil mist collectors, pipe systems, source capture hoods, electrical controls, spark detection systems and mechanical conveyors.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
 
1.            Education required:
  Post secondary trades – electrical, millwright or similar  
2.            Experience required:
  Aptitude for performing service and maintenance activities in an industrial environment.
Aptitude for sales and customer service  
Relevant experience desirable
 
3.            Professional license or certification requirements:
  Valid driver’s license
Certified in:  Confined space, lock out/tag out, areal lift (boom and platform), fall harness, working at heights – desirable / will provide training for right candidate
 
4.            Specific skills, knowledge and abilities desired:
  Ability to learn industrial ventilation design and motor controls for troubleshooting of systems.
Familiarity with PLC programming, ladder logic and variable frequency drives
Mechanically and electrically inclined with the ability to perform “hands on” tasks
Ability to work in a non-structured, entrepreneurial environment.
Team oriented personality
Willingness to learn new technology and accept personal responsibility for own development and performance.
 
     

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Training to be provided
 
   
1. Promote sales of repair parts, recommended spare parts, and preventative maintenance services. 20%
2. Learn to  Identify problems with equipment and repair when possible, or inform the responsible person within the Division so immediate corrective action may be taken. 5%
3. Help identify and resolve problems with the manufacturing of products. 5%
4. Field work – installations, service, preventative maintenance, assembly and repair as required 35%
5. . Furnish complete Service Reports, including description of work, parts used, time required, travel miles required, customer contact, and purchase order number so that paid service calls can be billed immediately. Reports storage and customer relationship management (CRM) to be performed in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 5%
6. Support for  customer requests for emergency service when equipment is shut down. 20%
7. Coordinate customer complaints with appropriate department to ensure problem is promptly and fairly resolved. 5%
8. Learn to take airflow readings and/or measurements with provided equipment to ensure system meets the engineered design requirements.  If not, must understand airflow to make the necessary adjustments to balance the system  - to be trained 5%
 
 
The position is Monday to Friday, with travel encompassing 70-80 percent of the role, covering Alberta and British Columbia
