VDC Coordinator

They are looking for a VDC Coordinator to join their collaborative team, and work directly with project superintendent, project managers and project executive to direct multiple projects accordingly. They are looking for someone who has a bachelors’ degree plus experience in complex and larger projects and with 4 years of related experience in the industry. Knowledge of building construction means and methods, scheduling, and cost control procedures.

Position Description: Assigned to a field operations team to assist in obtaining, evaluating, and coordinating information needed to construct the project in accordance with the contract documents through BIM models and to assure work meets safety standards, is within schedule requirements, and is constructed to the highest level of quality possible.

Reports to: VDC Specialist, VDC Project Manager, Project Executive

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Logistics planning, quantity take-off, 4D scheduling and constructability studies
  • Assist in the facilitation of 3d virtual trade coordination of work in the field.
  • Assist in the maintenance of BIM models for field operations.
  • Leverage BIM tools and processes to benefit project workflows.
  • Review models from designers, subcontractors, and others to ensure proper coordination and installation.
  • Assist in the validation of model-based project as-builts by trade subcontractors.
  • Participate in the implementation of the site safety program as required and ensure subcontractor compliance with Turner safety standards and all applicable safety codes and regulations.
  • Utilize BIM tools for the documentation and visualization of safety planning and logistics.
  • This includes modeling and phasing of logistics and safety related equipment, pedestrian protection etc.
  • Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Two years of college education from accredited degree program in Engineering, Construction or relevant education
  • 1 - 2 years of experience in VDC, preferred
  • Building construction, engineering, or equivalent experience, preferred
  • Knowledge of general contract, subcontract documents, drawings and specifications, desired
  • Basic understanding of scheduling programs, desired
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team
  • Demonstrate initiative and desire to learn
  • Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing
  • Proficient with computer applications, data entry, and Microsoft suite of applications
  • Proficient with BIM based computer applications such as Navisworks Manage, Trimble SketchUp, and Autodesk Revit
