As we continue to expand, we are seeking a talented Estimator to join our team in our London, Ontario office.

Position Overview:
As an Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in our pre-construction phase, working closely with project managers, architects, subcontractors, and clients to accurately estimate the costs of construction projects. Your expertise in cost estimation, attention to detail, and ability to navigate complex project requirements will be instrumental in ensuring the success and profitability of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive material take-offs, labor analysis, and cost estimates for various construction projects, including long-term care facilities, police stations, and affordable housing developments.
  • Collaborate with project managers and design teams to review project plans, specifications, and timelines to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals to ensure competitiveness and alignment with project requirements.
  • Prepare accurate and detailed bid packages, proposals, and tender documents for submission to clients and stakeholders.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, material costs, and construction methodologies to inform accurate cost estimates and budget projections.
  • Participate in project kick-off meetings, pre-bid meetings, and site visits as required to gather relevant project information and address any technical or logistical challenges.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of standardized estimating procedures, templates, and tools to streamline the estimating process and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with project teams during the transition from pre-construction to construction phase to ensure alignment of cost estimates with project budgets and schedules.
  • Provide ongoing support and expertise to project teams throughout the construction phase, including value engineering assessments, change order management, and cost tracking.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably within the commercial, institutional, or residential construction sectors.
  • Proficiency in construction estimating software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or RSMeans.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex project plans, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and construction practices in Ontario is an asset.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS) are preferred but not required
