Location: Milton, ON
Our well-known Canadian industrial manufacturing client is seeking a collaborative and self-motivated individual to join their team as a Procurement Agent.

Role Responsibilities:
Extracting information and proficiency with ERP systems to determine purchasing needs
Issuing and managing Purchase Orders which includes:
  • Placing PO’s for required parts AND ensuring parts are delivered by Vendors in a timely manner
  • Communication PO status in weekly management reviews
  • Alerting the Operations team regarding any delivery risks AND working with the team to mitigate delivery risks
  • Creating blanket PO’s for those items that are required on a regular basis
  • Managing receipts against blanket PO’s through to completion
  • Working with Quality to communicate quality issues and seeking resolution from the Vendors
-Negotiate pricing
-Monitoring part usage to maintain the inventory Kanban system (increasing or decreasing minimum Kanban levels based on activity)
-Setting up new Vendor accounts
-Working with shipping brokers to quote, arrange and monitor the status of all overseas shipping.
-Alerting manufacturing team to the need for manufacturing orders
-Track inventory movement and determine the root cause of discrepancies and report inventory adjustments to the Controller
-Maintain procurement related information in the ERP system such as price, minimum order quantities, lead times, alternate vendors, vendor part numbers, vendor contact person and info or similar such information.
-Various other duties as assigned
  • 5+ years of experience as a Procurement Agent ideally in an industrial manufacturing, or heavy equipment environment
  • Post-Secondary Education is an asset, ideally a University Degree or procurement certificate
  • Ability to lead individuals or teams of people as a procurement subject matter expert
  • Ability to work independently, self-motivated and have a high attention to detail, and work at a face pace
  • Superior understanding of inventory management and the relationship between inventory management and procurement
Must have skills:
-Clear oral and written communication skills
Technical understanding and knowledge of:
  • Materials
  • Machining
  • Casting
  • Injection Molding
  • Fasteners
  • Tooling
  • Cutting and Forming
  • Plating and coating
-High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel
-Data Management
