Our client is Canada’s leader in the import, warehousing, and distribution of heavy steel products in the industrial, civil, and commercial construction sectors. With over 65 years of excellence in business performance, employee satisfaction and community involvement, we are looking for an exceptional candidate who is a passionate, ethical, and an energetic leader.

Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for overall performance of 4 individual business units including import and distribution hubs, warehouse and distribution centres, and sales contractors.

The Ideal Candidate

Your strategic leadership will balance the needs of employees, productivity, quality products, and setting high standards for customers. Your leadership experience will lend itself to identifying trends, sales system improvements and implementation. You are adept at creative problem-solving to create a win-win.


  • Strategic planning and implementation to improve and achieve regional sales objectives
  • Negotiating with C-suite on high value import contracts
  • Identifying market trends, reviewing buying patterns, and forecasting quarterly projections
  • Working with the sales team to maintain and expand customer base through identifying new business opportunities
  • Problem-solving and implementing enhancements for production and customer service
  • Completing audits
  • Preparing/adjusting annual budgets and expenditures
  • Achieving regional sales operational objectives by contributing regional sales information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews
  • Participating in educational opportunities to keep current
  • Bachelors Degree/Equivalent Experience
  • Familiarity in the steel, metal, and construction industries is preferred
  • Experience negotiating with C-suite
  • Economic mindset geared towards the effective use of data and market trends
  • Excellent writing, communication, and presenting skills
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, relationship building, and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional desire to win, learn, and relate to people
  • Ability to create buy-in from a diverse group of people
  • Solid business acumen
  • Willing to travel 10%
