Our client, one of Canada’s leading manufacturing brands, is seeking an organized and self motivated team player to join their Toronto based facility as the Supply Chain Planner.  Reporting to the Plant Manager this role is critical to maintaining efficient work flow in the facility and oversees the identification, planning, scheduling and execution of production build orders and procurement replenishment orders.  

The Role:
  • Forecast Planning:
  • Map and plan short and medium term customer demand for local product supply and provide visibility to sales and operations through timely reporting;
  • Maintain close relationships with all internal and field sales personnel and customers to remain ‘plugged in’ to evolving business conditions at the site and industry levels;
  • Develop and maintain a finite and infinite capacity planning process and provide timely reporting on potential issues;
  • Manage and control plant inventory levels, dynamically optimizing the balance between order fulfillment and replenishment;
  • Proactively coordinate deliveries, expedite orders and effectively manage back orders with internal and external suppliers as required;
  • Effectively communicate with key stakeholders in Sales, Production, Customer Service, Customer Care, Quality Assurance and Finance;
  • Develop and maintain Excel-based reports to facilitate key tasks;
  • Continuously seek to drive process improvement by adhering to Lean best practices;
  • Adhere to established company policies, procedures and safety standards;
The Ideal Candidate:
  • 7+ years of supply chain management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • CSCP/CPIM/SCMP or similar accreditation or current enrollment in a recognized program;
  • Demonstrable experience in supply chain management activities including forecasting, planning, scheduling, production control, procurement, inventory management, etc.;
  • Solid ERP / MRP skills experience, preferably with an SAP background;
  • Experience with Lean Business systems, Six Sigma and similar CI programs;
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities;
  • Superior oral and written communications abilities;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills;
  • Strong sense of urgency and accountability;
  • Advanced Excel skills including use of formulas, pivot tables, conditional formatting, macros, etc.
