The Distribution Manager is responsible for the management of their team ensuring all customer orders are processed efficiently, accurately and on time.  This role ensures the inventory record accuracy and maintain the operating system to accurately reflect that inventory and using proper accounting practices to order and invoice product in and out of the facility.

The Position Details:
  • Oversee and manage the day to day office operations of the distribution center
  • Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate fast improvements and improved working relationships
  • Responsible to provide guidance and leadership to all distribution personnel including hiring, performance assessment and corrective measures. Includes managing, establishing and monitoring performance goals, coaching, and creating development/training plans
  • Ensures compliance with internal and external service level standards/commitments, from the receiving of material through the shipping of the products to the customers, including the accounting activities, as well as other administrative processes supporting the distribution center;
  • Manage inventory process and enhance tools to increase its accuracy and effectiveness;
  • Identify key opportunities for business improvement and develop and execute long term strategic plan for the organization
  • Evaluate and improve the standard operating procedures and apply to the standard work accordingly;
  • Share best practices within the team and implement KPI tools to measure, achieve and surpass company goals
  • Provides leadership for employee relations (coaching, training, and development);
  • Train and support the team with the MRP tool to improve the planning and purchasing process;
  • Collaborate with Plant Manager on all aspects of performance with respect to budget and corporate requirements and Safety compliance and quarterly audits, inventory process, budget preparation and support the deployment of LEAN Manufacturing
 This candidate will have the following aspects:
  • Post secondary degree in Business administration or other related field
  • 5+ years of experience with leading people in manufacturing or distributing environment
  • Hands on Management Style while being able to maintain focus on strategic goals and objectives
  • Proficient computer skills required (Microsoft Office Suite) and experience working within ERP systems such as SAP
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team with Strong collaboration and influencing skills
  • The ability to build excellent relationships across organizations and with senior management
  • Ability to build consensus, influence and resolve conflict
  • Demonstrated successful ability to build positive partnerships with strong leadership skills and excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills, solution oriented and result-driven
  • Understanding of safety environment and employment legislation assets
  • Exemplary written, verbal and presentation communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and move a variety of initiatives forward at the same time
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a strong attention to detail and documentation
  • Must be highly motivated and self-disciplined
