The Procurement Supervisor enables the development, delivery and maintenance of procurement policies and strategy in line with supply chain best practices. Reporting to the Procurement Director this role will create and manage department KPIs to inspire successful stakeholder management and service delivery. In addition to performing daily procurement related responsibilities, this position collaborates with and leads the Procurement team.
The Position Details:
  • Responsible for procurement of a portfolio of products
  • Competitively source required products and services
  • Leads business reviews, develops and execute action plans with support from the team members
  • Coordinates and manages stakeholder meetings
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of industry trends and best practices concerning purchasing, market pricing, supplier partnerships, products and material specifications with external vendors
  • Undertake specifically assigned projects relating to the procurement function and provide summaries, reports, business cases and recommendations on projects along with other activities as required
  • Accountable for the establishment, implementation and maintenance of an efficient and effective supply chain base through the Development, growth, selection, qualification and ongoing management of trusted collaborative relationships with suppliers
  • Responsible to provide guidance and leadership to all procurement personnel including hiring, performance assessment and corrective measures. Includes managing, establishing and monitoring performance goals, coaching, and creating development/training plans
 This candidate will have the following aspects:
  • 5+ years in Supply Chain Management with preference given to those with strong procurement experience
  • Post-Secondary Education is an asset, ideally a University Degree or SCMP designation
  • Prior experience in the heavy equipment, transportation & logistics industry would be an asset
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Exemplary written, verbal and presentation communication skills
  • Ability to multi task and move a variety of initiatives forward at the same time
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Ability to build consensus, influence and resolve conflict
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a strong attention to detail and documentation
  • Must be highly motivated and self-disciplined
  • Hands on Management Style while being able to maintain focus on strategic goals and objectives
  • Ability to multi task and work on various projects at any given time with competing deadlines
  • Computer Literate in ERP software applications
