Reporting Directly to the VP Sales, the Sales Manager is responsible for the Prairies and Western Provinces for the well known and established building materials manufacturer. 

About the client 
Our client is an established brand within the residential building materials industry selling product through distribution across Canada. As the manufacturer of one of Canada's best recognized portfolios of building envelope products and with a reputation for good quality products and excellent customer service, the business occupies an enviable position in the Canadian building materials market. 

About the role
As part of the organization's senior leadership team, you will be involved in strategic planning and cross functional support. Your core responsibilities are for overall management, productivity and achievement of sales goals for the Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and BC regions. You will be hands on building and developing key regional (and national) strategic relationships as well as accountable for local level sales and relationships across this region. This role is responsible for key account management as well as the sales leadership for the field based sales team. 

The Person 
The successful applicant requires strong strategic planning, senior level relationship building skills, strong data analysis skills and proven sales leadership experience. The role is heavily involved in marketing decisions and as a result knowledge and understanding of marketing strategy will also be highly rated through the recruitment process. Most importantly though, is the sales leadership experience within the building materials industry. The market is extremely competitive so we are looking for a sales leader able to differentiate the business in an increasingly congested market and able to drive sales across the region both directly through key account management and indirectly through the management and leadership of the sales team.
