Our client is a successful multi-disciplinary Canadian commercial real estate brokerage with multiple office locations throughout the GTA. Reporting to the VP of Operations, and working closely with a close knit team, you will have strong accounting skills with knowledge and experience in different payroll structures.
This role is an extended maternity leave coverage for 18+ months and comes with company benefits and other perks.

Responsibilities:
- Full cycle payroll for both salaries and commission, and contract employees.
- Government remittance calculations, payments and reconciliations
- Weekly commission calculations for agents, including general chequing and commission trust account reconciliation, updating house contributions, create paystubs and memos, and preparing all tax remittances
- Maintain correspondence with agents and outside brokers regarding invoices, payments and commissions
- Prepare weekly cashflow/balance sheet
- Bank accounts reconciliation, deposit commission cheques and trust deposit cheques;
- Prepare monthly financial statements
- Complete month end journal entries and accruals
- Reconcile various balance sheet general ledger accounts
- Monitor internal controls and ensure compliance
- Post-secondary education in Finance, Payroll or Accounting
- 5+ years experience in Accounting and Payroll, with at least 2 years of full-cycle Canadian payroll experience;
- Must have working experience of QuickBooks Desktop, Salesforce is a definite asset
- Expert user in MS Excel
- Technologically savvy and forward thinking, with an interest in improving efficiencies through automation and technology
