THE JOB
  • Preparing both rough designs and detailed work with CADD systems.
  • Co-ordinate practical designs in line with project scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Ensure final designs are compliant with building regulations.
  • Addressing concerns on building compliance with municipalities
  • Identifying and communicating potential design problems to the rest of the team.
  • Assisting with the submission of residential building permits
  • Providing alternative layout options/requests to our décor team
  • Examine and check engineering drawings for compliance with cited specifications.
  • Assist with estimating and interpretation of drawings in relation to tendering.
  • Gather site measurements and information.
  • Travel to building sites and meetings with consultants and municipal representatives.
  • Present project status at staff meetings
  • Experience with construction scheduling and co-ordination
  • Hours may fluctuate at times to meet project deadlines.
WHAT'S REQUIRED
The ideal candidate will have the following credentials;
  • BCIN Certification a must.  
  • Familiar with building code requirements
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Revit, AutoCad, Sketchup – 5 years experience preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Demonstrates initiative, high degree of accuracy, and ability to handle multiple and changing priorities.
  • Works well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work both unsupervised and as part of a team.
  • Learns quickly and enjoys problem-solving.
  • Salary dependent on experience.
