Key Task & Functions :

 

• Splice fiber optic cables, both loose tubes and ribbon optic cables.
• Create and maintain splicing sheets
• Understand and interpret drawings, splicing diagrams and blueprints
• Enter and maintain outside plant records
• Perform maintenance and recognize and repair route issues

 

Qualifications & Skills :

 

• Fiber splicing experience an asset
• Knowledge and experience with aerial and underground infrastructure, fiber, HFC, and coaxial systems
• Knowledge and experience using Windows computers and MS Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel)Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles involved in production, technical plans, blueprints, drawings, etc
• Experience with working at heights
