PROJECT COORDINATOR – UNDERGROUND UTILITIES

Our reputable and award winning general contractor is offering an amazing opportunity to join their team on beautiful Vancouver Island.

ABOUT OUR CLIENT
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a growing company with successfully completed projects throughout British Columbia including highways and bridge construction; underground utilities; demolitions; marine infrastructure projects; private development; and various municipal works.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
In this role you will support and interface with Senior Leadership, responsible for managing the full scope of projects.

• Manage or assist in managing civil construction projects
• Prepare accurate costs estimates and complete tender package submissions to acquire new projects.
• Complete site inspections and attend progress meetings.
• Prepare/review quality control, OH&S, traffic management and environmental plans
• Manage project performance to meet schedule, budget, and contract specifications
• Manage resources, cost control, progress estimates, contract change management
• Liaise with client, consultants and sub-trades
• Provide support for the field teams as necessary

This candidate will have the following aspects;

• Experience using the Microsoft Office programs, most notably Word, Excel & Project.
• Familiarity or experience with the construction industry is an asset
• Graduate of a recognized post-secondary program related to civil engineering, or construction management is an asset
• Experience using estimating software is an asset
• Able to work in a fast paced construction environment
• Strong organizational and effective communication skills, with the ability to multitask
• Flexibility to work extended hours when required (occasionally)
• Valid BC drivers license
