As Territory Manager for the Detroit Metro Region, you will be responsible for managing distributors and dealers for this manufacturer of premium building materials.

They have an established distribution and dealer network in this region but see great potential for the territory to grow given the right territory management. About the role
You will be managing an established territory and market that is very healthy and well positioned for growth. The dealers and distributors have tenured relationships with the business and so the role is focused on developing these commercial relationships with the aim of increasing the 'share of wallet' with each.
The territory is Metro Detroit and it is important the successful candidate lives in the territory. Whilst travel to customers will be on a almost daily basis, it is not envisioned that there is much overnight work. You manage your own schedule but most Territory Managers will work 3-4 days on the road meeting customers and one day from a home office.
The customers are specialty dealers, lumber yards and building materials distributors selling through to residential construction. You will work closely with them to understand their needs, to educate them on commercial opportunities for your product portfolio and to improve the commercial relationship between the businesses.
The successful candidate
The successful candidate will be;
- Living in the Detroit Metro Region
- Have a clean driving licence
- Have experience working for a building materials manufacturer or distributor
- Have a proven track record in Territory Management
- Be looking for a long term career with an organisation
- Have a drive to be successful
- Have strong communication and relationship building skills
