Some Key Responsibilities are:
  • Manage sourcing processes - RFQ packages preparation & issuance, supplier / contractor communications throughout duration of the bid, negotiate commercial terms & conditions, track bids progress & prepare bid summary / evaluation documents including letters of recommendation
  • Recommend procurement plans & strategies for acquisitions of engineered packages, materials, equipment & service agreements
  • Advise on project purchasing strategies & procedures
  • Source & recommend suppliers in Canada, US & worldwide to provide technical solutions & required equipment
  • Pre-qualify & prepare lists of bidders, interviewing potential suppliers / contractors & make recommendations
  • Prepare financial analysis in support of alternative purchasing strategies, initiate quotations for technical packages
  • Co-operate with engineering & other departments regarding modifications to equipment, product spec’s & delivery dates
  • Post Award administer of PO’s & contracts ie, filing, correspondence, change management & performance measurement
  • Monitor performance & conformance to commercial terms, approving/attesting progress invoices
  • Responsible for on time delivery of vendor supplied equipment & documentation to job site, after placement of PO’s
  • Establish & maintain regular contact with all suppliers to obtain reliable information on their status, track shipments, completing shipping releases, MRR’s, OS&D’s,...
  • Arrange inspections & site visits when required
  • Resolve project specific issues as they relate to procurement including review & process claims against suppliers/contractors for unsatisfactory materials / equipment
  • Attend planning meetings & liaise with other disciplines
  • Participate in contract termination, claims / dispute settlements & process back changes
  • Educate other team members in the actions required of a supply chain professional
  • Formally close out of PO’s and contracts
  • Prepare reports for clients & management, including reporting / tracking of hours, expenditures & savings
Ideal Procurement / Contracts Lead candidates will likely have most of the following:
  • 10+ years progressive procurement contracts project & operations skills & experience with relevant & significant experience in Canada
  • 5+ years leading teams would be an asset
  • Prior experience in an EPC environment is an asset
  • Thorough knowledge of current vendor capabilities within the Alberta market
  • Ability to establish & maintain professional workplace relationships, cooperate in a small team environment is essential including solid experience coordinating work with other engineering disciplines & interaction with equipment fabricators & construction teams
  • Track record of meeting deadlines & manage priorities, strong analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Enthusiastic, positive, self-motivated & able to work independently
  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills including excellent english - verbal & in writing
  • Education & Qualifications: a relevant degree (ie, BComm, Eng), and a SCMP designation or equivelant preferred
  • Eligible to work in Canada
