Senior Property Accountant
Who our client is
On of Vancouver leading Real Estate Development companies! 
What the Senior Property Accountant role encompasses:
  • Produce and review monthly financial statements and supplementary reporting as required
  • Prepare and review monthly journal entries, adjustments and accruals
  • Ensure all GST and other legislated taxes and assessments are reconciled and remitted
  • Monitor cash positions and anticipate future cash deficiencies
  • Prepare and Review monthly bank reconciliations including follow up and correction of outstanding items
  • Prepare and review monthly construction progress claim and development draw requests
  • Monitor and review monthly receivables for accuracy, adjustments, and/or corrections
  • Prepare quarterly internal and external management reporting packages
  • Prepare quarterly consolidation for a portfolio of assets
  • Ensure all tenant administration duties are processed per documentation as required
  • Review of financial aspects of lease setup and preparation of rental advice notices
  • Monitor and review accounts payable coding for accuracy
  • Provide financial and analytical assistance to internal parties
  • Complete and review year end operating cost adjustments and tenant billings for assigned properties
  • Manage the annual budgeting process for the company, while being responsible for completing property budgets for assigned assets.
  • Assist in the preparation of supporting working papers and documentations for year-end audit process and tax filing process
Other Duties
  • New property set up, analysis, and follow up of outstanding issues as required
  • Property sale and disposition lead, including assisting with
  • Preparation of final operating statements, funds distribution, GST reconciliation, closing of bank accounts, and any other relevant closing duties
  • Full understanding of all property specific processes and upkeep of pertinent information relating to specific properties
  • Input / feedback for improving procedures and initiating quality and efficiency enhancements
  • Efficient and effective communication, in a professional manner, with all employees
  • Other duties as assigned

Senior Property Accountant - Who you are:
  • University Degree in Business/Accounting preferred;
  • Designated Accountant CA/CGA/CMA;
  • 3 years related experience in a real estate or property management environment required;
  • Good knowledge of accounting policy and procedures (GAAP);
  • Basic knowledge of legal documentation;
  • Strong computer skills with a high level of competence in Microsoft Office i.e. PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Access;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills;
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle stress;
