This is a great opportunity for an Architect /Associate looking for their next career transition to be a part of a small and close knit company on beautiful Vancouver Island, and who is interested in growing into a leadership / partner position in this firm. This well established firm are looking for a dynamic individual who is experienced working with a variety of project types.
This firm offers a 4 day work week - slightly longer days but an overall shorter work week, bringing a better work life balance to you on the island!

The firm focuses mainly on multi family residential, commercial, healthcare, and public sector work, both wood frame and concrete steel construction. They have a collaborative culture and a well established clientele across the island and British Columbia.

The Architect / Associate will be involved in all phases of projects, from design development, client management, contract administration, development permits, overseeing production, through to project closeout. The right candidate must have experience working with both small and large projects and capable of mentoring a few junior staff. 

This candidate will have the following aspects;
  • Master’s Degree in Architecture, AIBC Designated (Registered or eligible to become registered in Canada/British Columbia)
  • Minimum 7 years' industry experience
  • Proven track record with projects in the commercial, institutional, multi-family or retail sectors ( a variety preferred)
  • Experience working with technical programs like Revit is essential
  • Detailed approach to project management with an entrepreneurial mindset in developing a team and leading projects forward through to completion
  • Passion for design and architecture with a strong leadership approach 
  • Strong client liaison skills
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills 
  • Desire to lead others and be a part of the leadership team in a small firm
  • Strong leadership team with a hands-on and supportive approach
