Our growing Canadian Owned leader in the systems integration is seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist who will be focused on procurement efforts in managing cost controls and will strive to be an active participant in the procurement and finance department.
The ideal candidate must be collaborative, outgoing, and motivated to play a key role in taking our client through its next phase of growth and development.

The Role:
  • Optimize inventory management by carefully balancing appropriate level of supply to allow flexibility, minimize overstock in keeping with our sustainability and financial goals.
  • Complete weekly test counts of inventory to ensure accuracy.
  • Participate in the year-end inventory counts; requiring extra hours and commitment by the successful candidate.
  • Management of vendor price lists, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Support finance in inventory analysis, including review of returned unused and defect products and/or on hand product quantity reconciliation and processing.
  • Perform final review of vendor invoices, prior to payment; review for errors etc.
  • Place replenishment orders with suppliers & make continuous improvement recommendations that remove waste and add value to our existing processes.
  • Product gross profit margin analysis.
  • Identify and communicate ETAs for product.
  • Collaborate with peers to manage daily activities, request for quotes with suppliers, materials are set-up for ordering while ensuring goods are delivered to the plants to enable business continuity.
  • Work closely with team on cost saving projects and learn how to negotiate with suppliers.
  • Support in the processing of purchase orders as per procedures, within the established turn-around time.
  • Provide consistent excellent customer service to all internal and external parties.
  • Occasional Procurement & Warehouse Manager duties to support additional business needs and/or team member coverage needs.
  • Provide consistent excellent customer service to all parties with whom you interact.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based upon business need.

The Ideal Candidate:
  • College or university education in General Purchasing, Accounting or Procurement program required.
  • Experience in inventory analysis an asset.
  • 3+ years previous experience in a procurement and/or accounting role, with focus on inventory controls, procurement process, and reporting.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems; proven experience in workflow process and daily business activities that are part of an ERP system.
  • Experience in the AV integration industry is beneficial; and/or solid understanding of product knowledge; product research is key to this role.
  • Knowledge of procurement systems; using multi-currency systems.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skill.
  • Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills, exercise good judgement and critical thinking.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, outgoing and can maintain collaborative relationships with suppliers and internal customers.
  • Well organized with attention to detail and ability to prioritize time sensitive activities.
  • Strong oral & written communication skills.
  • Highly motivated to learn and grow, both personally and professionally.
  • Take initiative to increase process & cost efficiencies.
