Our growing Canadian Owned leader in the systems integration is seeking a skilled Project Manager to join their team in Niagara Falls, On.

The Role:
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Project Manager will work closely with leadership, multi-disciplinary teams, sub-contractor trades, and respond to or resolve unforeseen events or problems.
This role will assist in the development and facilitate the implementation of workflows and processes and ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget, through the ongoing analysis and refinement of project management methodologies, team structures, and personal capabilities. This is to ensure that each successful delivery is improved upon. This role will be key in maintaining the efficiency of the project lifecycle post sales to hand off to the Service Department.

The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will pull together a team that match the budget, physical location, target platforms, skill sets and scope and remove impediments as the team/ team’s progress. This includes tracking of the administrative aspects such as: plans, budgets, schedules, resources, quality, commissioning, acceptance, and hand over to Service Department. In addition, the ideal candidate will oversee the delivery contracts and ensure that all aspects of the duties and obligations are properly executed and effectively documented.
  • 3+ years of experience in project management role or a relevant degree or accreditation in project management is required.
  • 3+ years of experience working in a construction environment, either new build or retrofit, is required.
  • Experience in financial management, cost control, estimation, resource allocation, and procedure optimization are required.
  • A relevant AV/IT industry technical degree and/or accreditation, or comparable experience, is preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other Project Management Tools.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
  • A demonstrated ability to adhere to deadlines and prioritize multiple projects effectively.
  • Excellent customer and conflict management skills.
  • Excellent leadership, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with tact and diplomacy.
  • Proficiency in the use of personal computers and software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and data entry systems.
  • Must possess a high attention for detail and accuracy.
  • Must be bondable and possess a valid G-level Ontario driver’s license or equivalent.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Willing to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
  • Ability and will to meet challenging deadlines.

Your Impact:
  • Customer experience satisfaction and continuous delivery improvement.
  • Standardization of delivery management processes and methods.
  • Oversee project life cycle, from inception to handoff to Service Department.
  • Manage project staffing needs, including forecasts, engagement, development, and recruitment.
  • Coordinate and manage work initiative and interdependencies.
  • Authorize and assign work tasks and resources.
  • Manage risk and challenges through corrective measures.
  • Participate in site walkthrough, construction meetings, and constant support to team and stakeholders.
  • Review and approval timesheets and work progress to align with project delivery objectives and strategy.
  • Complete financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and tracking through the project life cycle.
  • Manage the project budgets, resources, travel & overtime allocations.
  • Prepare and manage all project billing, reconciliation, and account collection.
  • Oversee project execution inclusive of management, schedules, milestones, labour utilization, and administration.
  • Regularly update Operations Team to ensure project is within budget and on schedule.
  • Set up tools, standards, and templates for managing the project.
  • Establish specific project controls and monitor progress; apply corrections as required.
  • Communicate with the client and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain timely change orders.
  • Develop, manage, and communicate deficiency reports and track outstanding items for completion.
  • Ensure all assigned but unused or uninstalled materials are tracked and accounted for.
  • Coordinate project kick-off and post-mortem reviews with Delivery Team, Administration, and Sales Department.
  • Set quality control standards for projects, conduct spot audits, and track delivery health on implementations.
  • Confirm and secure successful delivery sign-offs at the respective milestones, work closures, and conduct post-implementation reviews.
  • Provide input and recommendations to resolve cross-program and challenge issues with senior stakeholders.
  • Supervise testing and acceptance testing/commissioning of completed systems in coordination with client/consultant.
  • Ensure all project artifacts, final as built documents, system configurations, software versions and programming methods, photographs and videos are properly captured in the project folder and handed over to the Service team at the completion of system commissioning.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based upon business need.
