Our client works in partnership with the local hospitals to help patients transition back to their home or community. The caseload will primarily be medical and orthopedic cases.
Responsibilities
- Assess client needs, plan programs, treatment intervention and evaluation in the occupational performance areas of self-care, productivity and leisure including cognition and community living skills.
- Prescribe aids and assistive devices. The OT will either be an ADP Authorizer or will be prepared to become a registered ADP authorizer.
- Participate in program planning and development in professional initiatives supporting quality management and research.
- Treatment planning including oversight of an Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Demonstrate understanding of, compliance with, and commitment to, patient safety responsibilities and corresponding plans, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients.
- Baccalaureate or Master's Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Program.
- Member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO).
- Experience in a Rehabilitation or Acute Care Hospital setting an asset.
- Experience with discharge planning.
- Assistive Devices Program Authorizer an asset.
- Demonstrated expertise with medical, orthopedic, geriatric and neurological conditions.
- You have experience with medical, orthopedic, geriatric, and neurological conditions.
- You enjoy working in a multidisciplinary team.
- You have excellent leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to manage and prioritize workload.
- You’ve demonstrated critical thinking/problem solving skills.
- You seek out new opportunities to enhance your core competencies and improve your abilities within your career goals.
