DIRECT REPORT: Operations Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

The CNC Programmer is responsible to the daily set-up, programming, operation, and preventative maintenance of Robust Gear machine tools. They will be committed to a safe work environment with an engaged interest in safety with their team. They will be responsible to the measurement and conformance of machined components, achieving company directed quality objectives. They will demonstrate leadership and development of colleagues and machining practices, practicing never ending improvement. It is the CNC Programmers responsibility to understand the machine tools and the full capabilities of their role in manufacturing precision components.


OBJECTIVES

 
  • Programming of all CNC Machine tools, 5-Axis, 4-Axis, 3-Axis Milling machines and CNC Lathes with Live Tooling.
 
  • Ensure documentation is produced and complete for setup operators.
 
  • Ensure setup operators can perform their tasks from the documentation and assist with trouble shooting.
 
  • Achieve and maintain dimensional conformance for manufactured components.
 
  • Actively pursue improvement in process and machining.
 
  • Meets company production targets, Monitoring and reporting Set-up and Cycle times.
 
  • Practice continuous professional improvement .


DAILY AND MONTHLY OBJECTIVES
 
  • Study component requirements to a complete understanding of the days task.
 
  • Monitoring of communication for operators and Operation Manufacturing
 
  • Study and investigate the process and report improvements to engineering.
 
  • Plan manufacturing and purchase tooling for upcoming work.
 
  • Create CNC programs with a hand-off mindset.
 
  • In process verification and inspection criteria monitoring
 
  • Maintain Personal Safety, Safety of teammates, safety of product.


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

 
  • Understanding of Blueprint reading for machined components.
 
  • Experience with CNC Manufacturing 8+ years
 
  • Good understanding of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.
 
  • Advanced understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing standards.
 
  • Familiar with Lean Manufacturing Principles.
 
  • Strong Mechanical aptitude
 
  • Understands Metric and Imperial measurements.
 
  • Certificate or qualification in related manufacturing field is an asset.
 
  • Understanding of measurement equipment and hand tools. Micrometers, Calipers, Gauges.
 
  • Advanced understanding of CNC programming, and program Navigation.
 
  • Advanced ability to program using Mastercam 2022.
 
  • Detail oriented
 
  • Commitment to Quality, with a customer focus.
 
  • Wide exposure to controller types.
