Here are some of the duties and responsibilities
  • Manage the sales team. Schedule shifts ensuring adequate coverage.
  • Consistently ensure that customer inquiries, incoming calls/emails are attended to in a timely fashion.
  • Store opening and closing responsibilities.
  • Manage customer concerns, after sales service and warranty queries.
  • Create support and maintain a file system for all salespeople to include quotes, problem areas, training etc.
  • Ensure any and all material leaving the facility are properly invoiced.
  • Review estimates of sales staff.
  • Maintain hands on relationships with vendor reps. Stay on top of RTV’s and track to ensure credits due are received.
  • Effective inventory management
  • Manage the rentals program
  • Stay on top of product ordering.
  • Look for creative ways to showcase product to boost movement.
  • Create and maintain a cohesive relationship with all work partners.
  • Consistently monitor and exploit opportunities to increase profit.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to offer suggestions geared toward profitability of the operation. Improve efficiencies to optimize growth opportunities.
  • Possess a keen sense of what needs to be done and the skill to ensure that it gets done.
These are some of the responsibilities that come with the job but the above list is not to be considered complete and adapting to change will also be a big part of what is expected.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma
  • College or University education (business, economics) is an asset but is not required.
  • A background in sales, preferably in a retail environment.
  • Knowledge of and experience in the building materials industry is an asset.
  • Strong customer service IQ.
  • Cooperative and open to direction.
  • Organized with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate.
  • Understanding of what makes businesses succeed.
  • Excellent people skills, both internal and external customers.
