This is an excellent opportunity for a Plant Engineer & PM to join a progressive and dynamic company in the power generation industry. The Plant Engineer & PM will solid-line report to the Plant Manager, they will implement innovative engineering solutions for operations and maintenance including coordinate plant personnel (i.e., millwrights, electrical & instrumentation) to resolve problems, and provide technical support. The Plant Engineer will support capital project design, planning, execution; and optimize maintenance practices to ensure safe, reliable operations and lowest total life cycle costs in accordance with industry accepted engineering practices, governing regulations, and company policy & procedures. Projects will commonly involve external contact with engineering firms, vendors and sales / service personnel to discuss new implementation or modifications to existing equipment.

Good Plant Engineer / PM candidates could come from a more junior / EIT level with solid plant engineering experience to a more seasoned intermediate to senior engineer with a range of experience including in power plants and potentially elsewhere.
The ideal candidate for the Plant Engineer / PM role will likely have many of the following attributes:
  • Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering with an P.Eng, EIT or eligible;
  • 5-12 years progressive plant engineering experience with some solid plant operations & maintenance experience i.e., production optimization, trouble-shooting & RCA, preventative maintenance program development & execution
  • Some combined cycle power experience would be an asset
  • Some Project Management or Project Engineering experience working on projects from inception to completion;
  • Strong communication skills - verbal & written along with some good software application skills ie, MS Project, Excel, Access & AutoCAD, SCADA / DCS 
  • Familiar with safety standards, codes, and bylaws applicable to the industry
  • Some knowledge or experience of Provincial Regulations
