Our reputable client in the property management space is growing rapidly and in need of a Senior Payroll Administrator to assist with the acquisition of an additional payroll staff of 400 employees.

About our client:
Our client is one of Canada's largest privately owned residential property management companies. With almost 75 years in the business, this company understands the importance of hiring good people and giving them a great working environment and culture.  They predominately operate in the residential space (condominium, hi-rise, retirement homes)
 
About the role:
This is an amazing opportunity for the mature and experienced payroll professional looking for a great company and environment to work in.  This is a NEW position created out of growth.  Reporting into the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for managing the full cycle payroll for 400+ employees.    More specifically but not limited to:
  • Manage the preparation and distribution of the organization's (union and non-unionized) hourly and salaried employees for multiple payroll groups in Ontario and Quebec
  • Liaise with internal and external depts, clients, employees, etc. in the resolution of payroll issues and inquiries 
  • Remittances of all legally required deductions (Federal, Provincial, CPP, EI, WSIB, EHT, etc.)
  • Manage the preparation and annual filing of required reports and/or payments to government agencies, insurance carriers, employees, etc. including all legally required tax filings
  • Responsible for accurate calculations and deductions of payroll deductions for employee contributions to life and health insurance, multiple union pension and welfare payments 
  • Participate in research and implementation of any new payroll systems, reports or enhancements to improve payroll department efficiencies
  • Produce and analyze periodic and special reports on payroll matters
About the candidate:
  • Minimum 7+ years payroll experience (transmission of multiple payrolls, 500+ employees and multiple jurisdictions preferred)
  • PCP designation an asset plus working towards the Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) certification)
  • Ceridian Dayforce experience an asset (knowledge of payroll systems required)
  • Knowledge of Unions preferred with solid understanding of Collective Bargaining Agreements
  • Excellent working knowledge of advanced Excel
  • Technically competent and confident learning and training on new software and/or payroll systems
  • Exceptional customer service and resolution skills for internal and external clients
  • Consistent and reliable – able to regularly meet and exceed payroll deadlines and schedules
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
