My client is a non for profit that has been serving the community for over 100 years. 125 years with a strong team of 200+ dedicated individuals.
They are a leading charitable organization focused on offering help to those in need.
They are seeking a Donor Relations Officer to join our dynamic Development and Communications team. You’ll be part of a tight-knit group of 7 professionals, reporting directly to the Senior Fundraising Manager, and working closely with the Marketing team.
What You’ll Do
As the Donor Relations Officer, your role will sit at the intersection of fundraising, relationship development, and donor stewardship. You will be responsible for managing and cultivating relationships with a portfolio of mid-level donors , helping to grow their support and deepen their connection to the mission.
This is a newly created role with a clear purpose:
- Enhance mid-level donor retention
- Move donors up the giving ladder
- Increase long-term revenue and donor engagement
Key Responsibilities:
Steward and upgrade a portfolio of ~5,600 mid-level donors
Help implement a new mid-level giving strategy (developed in partnership with an external agency)
Collaborate with Marketing leader on integrated campaigns and donor communication pieces
Work with Fundraising leader to ensure stewardship touchpoints are timely, meaningful, and mission-aligned
Strategically identify and develop donor relationships that may lead to major gift potential
Track activities and donor journeys in the CRM, ensuring accurate and thoughtful follow-up
Participate in regular donor meetings, calls, emails, and occasional coffee chats
Create or adapt marketing materials to support mid-level donor cultivation
What Success Looks Like
In your first 6–12 months, we hope you will:
Steward 150+ mid-level donors and generate at least $250,000 in uplifted giving
Maintain an 80% monthly donor retention rate
Identify and help elevate 5% of Tier 1 donors to become major gift prospects
Work cross-functionally to test, learn, and improve donor engagement strategies

Someone who loves digging into donor data and figuring out what makes people tick
Comfortable collaborating across departments and juggling multiple priorities
Bilingual (French and English) – a must, given our donor base
Familiar with donor lifecycle, CRM tools, and fundraising best practices
Bonus points if you have:
Experience in fundraising, sales, or donor stewardship
Strong writing and communication skills
Strong at developing and maintaining relationships
A background in nonprofit, faith-based, or mission-driven organizations
