Job Title: Structural Engineer
Location: Ottawa, Ontario, (full-time, on-site)
Salary: $80,000+ (commensurate with experience)

Position Overview: The firm is seeking a mid-level Structural Engineer with 4-7 years of experience and a valid P.Eng. license. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset and a strong background in consulting engineering. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and analyze structural components for residential, commercial, and industrial projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.

• Develop detailed construction plans and specifications using computer-aided design (CAD) software.

• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to deliver integrated project solutions.

• Conduct site visits to assess structural integrity and provide technical guidance during construction phases.

• Prepare structural assessment reports and participate in the permit acquisition process.

• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices within the firm.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; a Master's degree is a plus.

• 4-7 years of relevant experience in structural engineering, preferably within a consulting environment.

• Valid Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license.

• Proficiency in structural design software and CAD tools.

• Strong understanding of building codes, standards, and construction practices.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.

• Entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to engage in business development and client relationship management.
